My Client, Colleen Katzenberger, is a work from home mother of two, but after both of her children fly the coup and go off on their own, she sees no reason to stay in her current house. So, she has decided to size down and move into a small residence in the suburbs of Farmingdale.
Colleen has a soft spot for the world of high fantasy such as Lord of the Rings and other such worlds that hold Fey Inspired architecture. Both the Shape of the building, as well as the programs and furnishings used within are chosen with this at its core.

Colleen is an avid reader, as such full wooden bookshelves where a must. And, in the two-story library room, such bookshelves span the entire wall.

To complement the wood furnishings inside the building as well as lean into the feel of middle earth. Stone sidings and a slate roof were chosen

Full wooden furnishings with a stone and marble accent were chosen. Alongside a log style resin floor for the body of the first floor, transitioning to tile for the bathrooms, and wood paneling for the remainder of the house.
